Totality at the Crossroads

hekate-solar-eclipse-totality-at-the-crossroads

As the darkness started coming, I wept.
It didn’t fall from the sky like twilight.
It came for me—rushing in, low and fast,
a wall of shadow sweeping across the land.
Not from above, but from the horizon—
like a tide turning, like night galloping on wind.
From east to west, or maybe the other way—
I couldn’t tell anymore.
Direction lost meaning
when the light itself began to flee.

It was not what I expected.
It was not gentle.
It was holy.

And as the sun disappeared,
the veil thinned.

For a breathless moment,
the world stood between worlds.
Time unraveled.
The stars returned in midday.
And something ancient brushed against my skin—
a whisper older than words,
a presence too vast to name.

I stood in a graveyard,
at a crossroads,
in the shadow of the moon.
And I knew—I was not alone.

She was there.
Hekate, keeper of the threshold.
Torchbearer of the in-between.
She did not speak, but I felt her watching,
guiding,
guarding the moment
as it passed through me.

It ended,
but I am not the same.
